Chemical Engineer

FeyeCon is seeking a Chemical Engineer to support our process design efforts. You are responsible for designing, developing, implementing and conducting from start to finish a broad range of both industrial and research projects, including scope documents, engineering calculations and designs, specifications, cost estimates, and documentation. You work within a cross-functional, engineering team to achieve corporate, divisional, and departmental objectives in a collaborative environment across a broad range of industrial
manufacturing facilities.

Description

Develop, guide, review, and present project feasibility studies and business cases that accurately identify project benefits, risks, and returns.
Perform mechanical and/or chemical detail engineering for all aspects of projects.
Responsible for the design of safe processes and specification of safe high pressure equipment.
Development of technical specifications and contracts for equipment and services for all aspects of projects.
Coordinate, review, provide oversight and manage suppliers, contractors and consultants.
Manage overall project budget, schedule, scope, deliverables, execution, and reporting to deliver the expected benefits of the project to the organization.
Maintain good communication to management and project customers regarding project status, problems, and changes.
Prepare and implement necessary training for maintenance and equipment operation per project.
Prepare, organize, document, and archive project documentation.
Work proactively with process engineers, production, and maintenance departments to solve process and equipment issues.
Ensure that all safety and environmental policies and procedures are followed, driving a zero-incident project environment.
Work with customers to develop appropriate acceptance criteria and sign off documentation.

Profile

BS in Engineering, preferably Chemical or Mechanical.
5-7 years engineering experience in industrial or manufacturing industry.
Demonstrated excellent project management skills, incl. managing projects $1M-$10M+.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, negotiating skills, and process troubleshooting skills.
Demonstrated high level of drive and initiative to complete assigned tasks and investigate and seek out improvement opportunities.
Strong leadership potential, passion, and excitement to add value to the organization.
Demonstrated ability to provide complex and innovative solutions to project and process engineering problems
Strong computer skills in software applications/environments required for communicating, analyzing, monitoring, costing, and reporting
Projects may be executed within North America or internationally. Requires 50-75% travel.
 
Qualifications (Preferred)
FE or PE licensure
Experience in fiberglass, glass, or roofing manufacturing industries
Proficient in project scheduling software (MS Project), advanced engineering tools (AutoCAD).
Proficient performing PHA, HazOp design reviews
SAP, Project Systems experience
Experience with a continuous process discipline such as Six Sigma/ Lean/ TQM manufacturing environment
Black/Green belt certification
PMP Certification
Demonstrated proficiency in writing, reviewing, and negotiating technical specifications and contracts
