New Management – Same World Class Technology

On 1 October 2009 Dr. Geert Woerlee stepped down as FeyeCon’s managing director, after over 10 years at the helm of the company.

He is replaced by Dr. Maaike van Roosmalen, who has been with the company since 2003.

Dr. Woerlee is responsible for developing FeyeCon from a one man operation into a budding center of research with over 25 employees and both impressive and consistent annual turnover. It will be the role of Dr. van Roosmalen to build on his success and foster continued excellence.

As a majority owner of the company Dr. Woerlee will continue to remain involved with FeyeCon. He explains the transition of leadership as a natural next step for the company, “I am a builder. Maaike is a far better manager than I.”

Dr. Woerlee will continue to play a leading role in building new businesses within FeyeCon’s IP venture fund. He is currently focused on establishing Algae Biotech SA as a foremost producer of micro-algae and algae related products.
