FeyeCon participates in the BB Tasty project initiated by Eurostars. The project aims to improve bioavailability and taste of nutraceuticals in beverages by developing improved microencapsulates. By enhancing the encapsulates it will become easier and less expensive to add nutrients to liquid substances without compromising the shelf life or taste. The encapsulates contain nutraceuticals with improved stability, targeted release and enhanced bioavailability. The ingredients will be used for the fortification of beverages and other food products.

Adding nutritional value to food in the form of specialty oils give products an important competitive edge. While highly beneficial, adding these nutrients comes with numerous challenges. They are vulnerable to degradation due to oxygen, light and temperature, are often incompatible with other ingredients or have a bad flavor. FeyeCon developed the ESCENTA OMEGA concept that tackles these issues. ESCENTA OMEGA stabilizes sensitive oils in a fine powder, making it easy to add them to food and beverages. TEXTURING AGENT - INSTATEX, STABILIZING SPREADS AND SUSPENSIONS

In food applications, fats and waxes are excellent options for stabilizers, because they are easily digested, not soluble in water and inexpensive. However, micronizing such ductile materials is usually cumbersome and energy intensive. To overcome these issues, FeyeCon developed InstaTex powders with a one-step micronization process, which are a perfect and easy texturing agent for margarines, spreads, dressings and creams. 

EASY FORMULATING - IMPROVED MEDICINE ADMINISTRATION 

FeyeCon produces micro and nano-sized particles from Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) to improve formulation and create alternative routes of administration. Both improve patient comfort and bioavailability of an API. Micronizing particles into specific drug polymorphisms can also lead to shelf-life enhancement of a final formulation. By changing the process conditions and nozzle, the size and morphology of the powder can be varied to meet specific requirements. Using carbon dioxide as an alternative for organic solvents provides greener processing under mild conditions.
