Combined Technology Systems
FeyeCon's technologies are both innovative and flexible. Not only can a single process be implemented, but many of our technologies can be used in combination. The combination possibilities are endless.
EXAMPLE - Drying meets Impregnation
FeyeCon developed a process and commercial scale equipment for tissue-processing for histo-pathological purposes in hospitals. The process can be used to dry (human) tissue and subsequently impregnate it with paraffine at elevated pressures using carbon dioxide as a transport medium. It is a combination of drying and impregnation processes. This patented process was developed in order to obtain a faster and cleaner tissue processing technology in comparison with conventional methods.

IMPREGNATION PROCESS
Impregnation is, in essence, the converse of extraction. In this process the CO2 acts as expellant of the dehydrant and as a very efficient carrier for the paraffin impregnation. The general results are indistinguishable from traditionally processed samples, while the results on fatty tissues (like breast) are far superior. The processer dehydrates (dries) and impregnates in 2.5 hours, giving you same day results. There is no need for cleaning runs. The supercritical CO2 readily dissolves any surplus paraffin and carries it out of the reactor. Outside the reactor the CO2 is de-pressurized to the gas phase, leaving clean paraffin for re-use.
EQUIPMENT
The tissue processor is designed for use in a histo-pathological laboratory and is to be operated by lab-assistants. The Tispa Processor is marketed by Tispa Medical BV, a spin-off company of FeyeCon.
