Drying systems
FeyeCon has developed a drying process that allows for fast, efficient dehydration of food and pharmaceutical products while preserving their nutritional and medicinal quality.
PROCESS
Drying with carbon dioxide enables the product to be efficiently dried at temperatures close to ambient. The flow of the carbon dioxide carries the water released from the products with the resultant humidified gas dried in a zeolite reactor and is subsequently recycled back into the drying chamber. Upon reaching a low and constant humidity, the system is slowly depressurized, to ensure product integrity is maintained. Short cycle times and the small floor area required allow for efficient processing.

EQUIPMENT
FeyeCon has been working with drying technology since the company's inception over 10 years ago. We offer R&D opportunities with our in-house pilot facilities, (seen here), with CO2 circulation capacities of 200 and 400L/hr. Our industrial scale designs are currently being operated by leading companies in the food industry. We remain available to customize our technology to suit your processing and equipment needs.
APPLICATIONS
Hot air drying and freeze drying often result in shrinkage, denaturation or freeze damage. CO2 is non-toxic, leaves no traces on the product and operates under mild processing conditions. It is therefore particularly interesting for temperature sensitive materials such as fruit, vegetables, pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals. Gentle conditions and short drying times improve product quality significantly.
