Dyeing Systems

Conventional textile dyeing processes are both environmentally unfriendly and economically costly. FeyeCon has developed an economically feasible process and machine for dyeing textile materials using supercritical carbon dioxide. It is a water free process with lower operational costs than conventional dyeing processes.

PROCESS
Our dyeing process is simple, sustainable and fast. The dyes are handled in powdered form and are loaded prior to each dyeing cycle into the machine. Processing and recycling of the CO2 is computer controlled. Uniform and fast dyeing can be achieved with no detrimental effects on the textile material itself. The dyeing cycle is faster due to the high diffusivity of the dyestuff in CO2. Average dye and drying cycle is 2 hours (standard colors). Dyed textile material meets all industrial quality standards.

EQUIPMENT

FeyeCon has consistently been at the forefront of developing textile dyeing equipment. A pilot plant for R&D currently sits at research facilities in Delft, The Netherlands and an industrial machine (dyeing of 100kg - 200kg textile per batch) has been developed for DyeCoo Textile Systems BV, a spin-off company of FeyeCon.

CO2 dyeing machines can be easily implemented in current textile plants.

APPLICATIONS & BENEFITS

Considering conventional dyeing requires approximately 100 liter of water to dye 1 kilo of textile and roughly 60 billion kilos of textile are dyed each year throughout the world, the impact on water and energy savings potential are enormous. The technology is applicable to both synthetic and natural textiles. Any industrial textile dyeing facility interested in greener, faster and cheaper processing can benefit from this know-how.
