Fat Micronization Systems

Micron-size powders of fat, wax or other ductile materials offer opportunities for new products and inventive processing.

PROCESS
While micronization is a well known process, FeyeCon has developed a novel technique to create more advanced structuring materials. The process, known as ScMM(supercritical melt micronization), mixes liquid fat with pressurized carbon dioxide. The mixture is expanded over a nozzle, thereby removing the CO2 and the outcome is a fine fat powder with a fat-crystal structure of approximately 10 mm size.

EQUIPMENT
FeyeCon has designed and constructed test, food grade status and industrial equipment. FeyeCon operates testing equipment (60-80kg/day continuous operation) with a flexible design for meeting clients' needs and to help further develop industrial equipment.

FeyeCon has implemented this technology in its first ever industrial application. Our industrial equipment satisfies internationally recognized regulations regarding food hygiene practice and food safety. Construction allows for easy transportation, adequate maintenance and cleaning. We work with our clients to ensure all their powder production equipment needs are met.

APPLICATIONS
Fat micronization serves a range of applications in the food and cosmetics industries. Furthermore micronized waxes can be added to coatings, sealants and pastes to influence product rheology.

Food applications include: margarine, spread, dressing, dairy creams, mayonnaise, ice cream.

Natural oils and fats constitute an increasingly important segment in cosmetics formulation, as they are serving the trend towards natural and organic beauty products. Product applications include: skin care, hair care, makeup.
