In the petrochemical, pharmaceutical and food industries there are various instances where liquid mixtures must be separated into its component parts, or fractions. In many occasions conventional separation methods require environmentally unfriendly solvents at elevated temperatures to improve separation power. FeyeCon has the solution to separate your liquid products easily and without toxic solvents.
PROCESS
By using supercritical carbon dioxide in a fractionation column a range of liquid products can be separated easily without the use of any additional solvents and at relatively low temperatures. CO2 acts as a solvent and carrier for the fractionated compounds. Thanks to our mild process parameters, the processing of thermally degradable products is highly feasible, and can lead to successful and profitable end products.
EQUIPMENT
FeyeCon has designed and constructed various fractionation columns for food and pharmaceutical applications. Thus far our columns have ranged in internal diameter up to 60mm and in height up to 5m. Please contact us regarding your fractionation needs.
APPLICATIONS
Fractionation is a separation technology often used in the petrochemical industry, namely in petroleum refineries, petrochemical and chemical plants and natural gas processing plants. There remains a wide array of applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries, for example separating valuable nutritional and/or functional components from materials.
