Renewable Technology
In recent times utilizing renewable resources for raw materials and fuels has gained significant ground, partly thanks to increased commitments by nations and industries to adopt greener processing and reduce global CO2 emissions. Many raw materials for technical applications can be and partly have been replaced by plant materials. Thus, there exists a high demand to adapt and develop processes transforming plant biomass to industrial raw materials with comparable or even better properties than the related petrochemical based materials.
We develop innovative processes and products based on renewable resources using our knowledge and experience in CO2 technology and ionic liquid based chemistry. We also focus research on the capture of CO2 in a bioavailable form.
FeyeCon currently develops the entire production chain for growing, harvesting and processing microalgae from marine resources. We aim to make algae farming more efficient in its consumption of CO2 and to improve the possibilities for small farms to contribute to CO2 sequestration and biomass production.
This includes post-processing to yield marketable omega-3 products, natural colorants for food, as well as fuels and fuel additives. Our team consists of agricultural specialists, micro- and marine biologists, chemists, engineers and marketing specialists all working closely to realize our goals.
